The Grand Condominiums

A 12-storey condominium on site overlooking the Grand River in Cambridge – a gateway into the City’s downtown. The building responds its unique environment – existing, postmodern architecture to the North and views of the historic downtown to the South. The Northside has a simple façade; the South side features glass terraces. A dark spine that houses the mechanical equipment breaks up the building into two separate elements, creating a finer-grained built form. The high-water table necessitated a parking structure on the ground floor – the roof provides outdoor amenity space for residents.
